CHBE Alumni Clinton Large and Marc Apduhan: Leading Change in Education and Reforestation

UBC CHBE News – “CHBE Alumni Clinton Large and Marc Apduhan: Leading Change in Education and Reforestation”

UBC’s Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering spotlighted two of its alumni—Clinton Large and Marc Apduhan—as exemplars of applied impact and innovation. Large is recognized for founding Large Tutoring in 2020, a platform built on inclusive education, serving diverse learners (including those with learning disabilities), guiding over 400 students toward success, and earning projected 2023 revenues of $220,000. The feature pairs this with Apduhan’s efforts in environmental restoration: his leadership at Flash Forest, using drone and AI technology to plant half a million pods daily, and his work with Renovo Creative in driving social-impact tech solutions. Together, they embody the meaningful change CHBE graduates can create.
